CompTIA Announces Exam Series Retirement

CompTIA’s updated A+ objectives focus on supporting data across many different devices and types of software. In the past, the objectives have focused on supporting different devices. Today, more users are remoting in or accessing various types of data across different networks, devices, etc. Many times, those devices use their own supporting software. Today’s network administrators are tasked with enabling their users to access content from just about anywhere using a variety of tools.

Some jobs are now requiring applicants to have a Server+ Certification because it lets prospective employers know that you have the skills and determination it takes to successfully do the job. Some positions include Network & Systems Virtualization Engineers, Systems Engineers, Systems Administrators, VMWare Systems Engineer and Windows Server Engineer just to name a few. Since the Server+ Certification is platform independent, you will be qualified to work at any of these positions.
It also is recognized all over the world, so if you’re adventurous and love to travel, the possibilities are endless. The things you will learn with this certification are more suited to Server and Virtualization Administrators and Engineers, but don’t let this discourage you from obtaining a new certification. New titles in server technology are constantly being added to the list.
